Tartuca, Chiocciola, Lupa en Bruco favorites

Around 13:15, the 10 horses chosen by the captains were assigned under the watchful eye of the mayor. The lot included two horses that had already won at least 1 Palio (Zio Frac and Tale Quale), five that had ridden at least one Palio; Zenis, Comancio, Ares Elce, Arestetulesu and Viso D’Angelo. Finally, we also count 3 debutants (Diodoro, Diosu de Campeda and Dorotea Dimmonia).

Tartuca seems to be the top favourite with Zio Frac. But fate was also not unkind to rival Chiocciola with ex-winner Tale E Quale. Just below that, we put Viso D’Angelo with Bruco, and Ares Elce with Lupa. The others are less well-known, but as we know, there are always 1 or 2 surprises among them.

The first Prova will follow tonight at 19:45. Curious which fantino each contrada will choose.
