Palio postponed to July 4, 2024 at 7:00 PM

Due to the rain today, the Palio will be postponed for a second time. The Palio will be held on Thursday, July 4 at 7:00 PM. The chance of another postponement is very small as the weather forecast for the coming days is very good.

The track will be cleared from 5:10 PM. You can continue to enter the Piazza via Via Dupre until the city decides it is too full. At 6:50 PM the sbandierata della vittoria will be performed by the 17 contrade in front of the Palazzo Pubblico. At 7:00 PM the fantini will come out of the town hall and they will start again.

The last time the July Palio was held on July 4 was in 1979. Civetta won it with Francesco Congiu detto Tremoto on Quebel.
