Fate has decided: Valdimontone, Leocorno and Civetta cheer
Around 1:00 PM this afternoon, the horses were assigned to the contrade for the Palio on August 16, 2025. Valdimontone with Anda e Bola, Leocorno with Diodoro, and Civetta with Benitos responded enthusiastically.
Below is an overview of the 10 horses that were assigned. Now begins what is known in Siena as the “Valzer delle monte”. Which fantino goes where. And mind you, this changes from minute to minute and usually settles down before 4:00 PM… The first Prova will be ridden tonight at 7:15 PM, and then we’ll know more…
